Dr. Platiša has found her passion in emergency and intensive care, where speed, precision, and timely decision-making are essential to saving lives. Her love for veterinary medicine began back in primary school, and with a hands-on nature and a love of challenges, her career path was clear. “Veterinary medicine was the only logical choice for me,” she says.
Growing up in a family surrounded by animals, she now cares for three dogs and three cats, including her beloved dog Lava, who holds a special place in her heart. This deep connection with animals shines through in her work—her empathy for patients and dedication to their recovery are what drive her every day.
Dr. Platiša made the decision to leave the UK and return to her roots in Croatia, proudly becoming a part of the BUBA Veterinary Clinic team. When she’s not on call, she enjoys spending her free time in the peaceful region of Lika, where she relaxes with her family away from the city noise.
As part of the BUBA team, Dr. Platiša emphasizes the value of teamwork and continuous learning. “Our team includes experienced professionals as well as young veterinarians eager to grow. That combination of knowledge, experience, and dedication is key to providing the best care for our patients,” she explains. She also highlights the essential role of veterinary technicians, whose expertise greatly enhances the clinic’s day-to-day operations.
But what brings her the greatest fulfillment are those quiet, early morning moments after a night shift—when patients are stable, or even improving. “The feeling I get when I leave work in the morning knowing my patients are doing better—that’s what makes it all worth it,” says Dr. Platiša, who has become a calm and reassuring presence during BUBA Clinic’s night shifts.
